kimee brown is a fashion rebel who lives by the motto: "i don't dress for men or attention, I create looks for fashion." she is a hybrid of impeccable style: old vintage trunks to karl lagerfeld tees + chanel 2.55 + retro jordan's. kimee is a self-taught image consultant that has studied the art of fashion (not trends) b.s. fashion merchandising at university of south carolina.
only--one day after graduating--kimee moved to washington, dc with her totes filled with big city dreams of establishing herself as a fashion doer and image artist. kimee has worked as a womenswear manager with luxury department stores and small boutiques, various fashion media sites, and an assistant fashion editor for mwari magazine. she has also assisted in the production of several shows for new york fashion week f/w 2011 including alexander wang, karen walker, j. mendel, and diesel gold collections.
"V winter MMXIII obsessions: all___________ everything"
I. matte
i loathe the word trends or the idea of following one; but, i’ve taken a liking to the matte top coat nail polish trend. but, then i realized my obsession doesn’t stop there….all matte everything.
II. japanese designers
i’ve had a thing for the peculiar commes des garcon founder, rei kawakubo, for some time now; but, i'm realizing i’m quite fond of most japanese designers. it’s something about the construction and tailoring…all japanese designers everything.
III. ratchet
being from the south i’m instantly drawn to a trap beat, or anything associated with the south in general…all ratchet everything.
IV. faux designer
i’m certainly not the richest person in the world nor am i the poorest; but, i find the outlandish price points of designer tees absurd. instead, i’ll opt to pay a reasonable $50-$100 for….all faux designer tees everything.
V. netflix
during these unbearable winter months, i plan to hop aboard the breaking bad bandwagon….all netflix everything.
